The Music Together Preschool program offers children, parents, classroom teachers, and the school community a rich variety of tangible and intangible benefits throughout the school year.    

Each semester, new family and classroom materials and ongoing support services are provided to preschools offering our licensed Music Together Preschool program.

Materials and activities for the child:

• Music Together CD and songbook for classroom use
• Weekly music classes taught by a Music Together music specialist

Materials for the family:

• A set of family materials (two CDs and a songbook) every semester for each child in the program to take home
• Guidance on how parents can engage in playful music activities at home that stimulate family bonding and shared learning
• Family music events: children, parents, extended family, teachers, and administrators come together to enjoy singing, dancing, and instrument play

Materials and mentoring for the classroom teacher and aide:

• One Music Together Preschool Guide, including songs, activities, sample lesson plans, assessment tools, and more: a different song collection for each semester
• Three Music Together Family CDs and songbook sets for each classrom per semester 
• Mentoring from the Music Together specialist on how to implement music throughout the rest of the week to complement the classroom teacher’s lesson plans and activities

The Support of a Music Together Music Specialist

Every enrolled preschool receives the support of a trained music specialist, who teaches the weekly classes, provides mentoring and inservice training to classroom teachers, and helps with parent events. The music specialist may be a Music Together Preschool program provider or a Music Together-trained and approved member of the preschool staff. 

In addition to initial Music Together teacher training, the music specialist receives ongoing professional development training on skills and music development, and mentoring from Music Together LLC.
