Music-making Activities

Balls and Music-Making
In Music Together classes, teachers often introduce balls as props during music activities—it helps children “see the beat!” So, when you play with music at home, don’t forget your beach balls, bouncy balls, and wiffle balls! Check out these ideas submitted by Music Together families.

The Music Together "Family"

When Music Together coauthors Ken Guilmartin and Lili Levinowitz were
organizing the formal recordings of the song collections in the early
1990s, they decided to cast the singers as a “family” in order to
reinforce the importance of parents and children singing and making
music together. That’s why we have Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Uncle
Gerry.
