Enjoy this beautiful clip from “Soleram,” a new addition to the 2022 Flute Song Collection. “Soleram” (also commonly known as “Suliram” in western cultures) is a globally popular lullaby believed to have been composed in the 1400s. This gentle, lilting folksong appears to originate from Indonesia and is frequently noted to be a lullaby of the Riau people. The Malaysian version, “Suriram,” has slight melodic variations from the Indonesian, and is also widely known. Enjoy!
